Have you ever wondered where all these expressions come from? Crime in Italy must have originated during World War II. I know they are a way to express emotion without cussing. I think Leaping lizards was from Little Orphan Annie and Jiminey Cricket was from Disney.
Do you know any other sayings? Do you know what any of these mean or where they originated?

I watch MASH reruns and colonel Potter has some very unusual sayings. They always make me laugh. I like the Brirish term "bloody". I gather it is a "cussword". Never heard Crime in Italy. crimeanettly?
