Isn't it strange how we can remember so many song lyrics when it is hard to remember what we did yesterday? It must be the music that makes them so memorable. I remember the lyrics to many songs of the 50's. Then certain occasions make some songs memorable. I remember the lyrics to the first song I learned to play on the piano: Mr. Dragon's tail is waggin, All he says is boo. Mr. Dragon don't go braggin, I'm not scared of you! I remember harmonizing with all my friends to Seven Lonely Days: Seven lonely days make one lonely night, Seven lonely nights make one lonely me. This song was popular when I was in high school. Remember the Girl Scout campfire song: Above the plain of golden green A young boy's head is plainly seen. A hulyah, hulyah, hulyah, yah, Swiftly flowing lobbay. Don't ask me what this song is about or what it means, I have no idea. I remember most of the songs from the play, Camelot. It has been one of my favorites and I have the record and found the cd at Barnes and Noble not long ago. It features Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, and Robert Goulet.
I heard a song on the radio the other day with the lyrics: That's not my name. It was a rap song but had a catchy beat and lyrics. I asked Alexis what is was and she knew and told me but I can't remember the artist. It's by the Ting Tings. If you go to Ting Tings That's Not My Name, you can hear it.
